I am created for goodness

I am created for goodness

Fellow Pilgrims, Top of the day, wishing you the abundance of God’s goodness today.

“And God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good” Genesis 1:31

When we started this series of study on the book of the beginning, Genesis, reference was made of the fact no other person, other than God was mentioned and exemplified. I emphatically stated that the journey of man started with God, the Elohim- the self existing One. All lives derived their origin and existence from Him. He made all things both in heavens and on earth. God’s general assessment of His work is that “it was very good”

Today, one can stand in great amazement at the great works of God.

Although, God is all in all, He notwithstanding pauses to review His works and in specific and definite term which confirms that, “it was good” see Gen.1:4, 10, 12, 18,). One cannot expect anything less than good from a good God.

We are God’s creation and like our father we also have power to do good works. Apostle Paul affirms this when he says “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them” (Ephesians 2:10).

As you journey through life, have moments to pause to assess yours works, to find out whether what you are doing is good and in line with your mission or purpose on earth. You are your own judge. Ask yourself pertinent questions that will move you from where you are to where you want to be in life.

As the year runs to an end, take time out to review your activities in the year 2013, with the hope of repositioning yourself for the year 2014. It is my prayer that the Lord will help you in the year 2014 to do good works to the honour and praise of His name. May the Lord bless you and make His face shine on upon you continually, amen.

Memory Verse:

“Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evil doers, they may by your good works which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.” (1 Peters 2:12)

Lord, I am created in the image of Christ for good works only. I uproot every root of eviL of my past in Jesus’ name.
